he's as local/native as you can get so if he'll play for a discount it will most likely be for the rockets
I mentioned it in another thread he is Lou Williams Lite Has the potential to become Lou Williams 2.0
I don't think he has the scoring potential of Lou. I don't think of Lou Will as a 3&D guy but that's exactly what i think of AB. I think he has potential to be a really good defender and obviously he has a silky smooth jumper. He hasn't really shown the ability to create off the dribble like Lou will.
If he keeps shooting like he does, he’s not playing for no discount. He’ll get at least what House received
The off ball screen was a staple of the Rockets the last 3 years. They would use it to get Gordon a shot all the time.
The Rockets still have enough of their MLE remaining to offer Brooks a deal up to four years in length (including this season). Presumably, they would give him more than the prorated rookie minimum this season in exchange for multiple non-guaranteed years after this one. (That's basically what Jae'Sean Tate did on his three-year deal.) They can structure the contract to have a team option for Year 4, allowing the Rockets to either make Brooks a restricted free agent after Year 3 if they decline the option or an unrestricted free agent after Year 4 if they exercise the option.
What am I missing? That was not a play for Brooks it was improvised. He is gonna be interesting to watch.
Rockets run free flowing offense with very few set plays unless ATO, but the tweet was just emphasizing need to free up Brooks more. At least that's how I understood it to mean.
TBH, I wanted Herro and/or Duncan Robinson during the Harden trade rumors. Morey never really delivered the kind of sharp shooters I've been coveting for years. (To be fair to Morey, some of those--EGo, Ryno--just inexplicably dropped off after they joined the Rockets.) Now, Brooks kind of makes those guys obsolete.
