and all the casual fans, including the ones here How many years was Harden called a loser on this board because he couldn’t drag limited role players and a fading star to a title? If he had stayed in Houston, he’d have retired ringless and be forgotten. We have sad, lonely, bitter exes who were trying to pretend that they didn’t care that Harden left or that the Harden era wasn’t anything special because there was no ring. 8 great years means nothing because of no title, and then we wonder why stars will force their way out for a chance at a ring.
Joe Harris, Kyrie, kd heck even lma are better shooters than anyone on the rockets except cp3 and he didn't even play that game.
Harden and CP3 were on absolute historic levels of ISO efficiency that year. It wasn't just defense. Our defense didn't fall off those next two games either IIRC, we just didn't have the unstoppable dual iso threat we had all season. I think Nets win easily. IMO this is a better team than GSW was.
Shots may not be falling for a little stretch but for these nets to go 0-27? Good luck with that. Their offense is their best weapon. They just need to be adequate defensively which they have shown they can.
they have claxton to protect the rim. KD is a decent run protector. LMA/Blake are at least big bodies to bother them, Who’s stopping them on the other end? People are acting like people are just going to be posting up all day on these guys. They can but they won’t be able to catch up on the other end.
KD is a very good rim protector. Aldridge and Griffin were brought to stretch the floor and bring Embiid out of the paint and force him to defend them which as a result will automatically open the lane up for Harden , KD and Kyrie. The Nets now have three big bodies to throw at Embiid .
Totally agree with you. Especially considering James Harden is one of the best post defenders in the league that would play right into the Nets hands. I don't think you can beat them shooting twos. They might score 150 a game in the playoffs.
Capela averaged 1.6 pts and 4 rebs in the playoffs when he was 21 yrs old do you think those are great splits? Maybe you mean when Capela was 24 and had 3 yrs of playoff experience already. My point is very few big men are developed enough at that age to contribute in the playoffs. Claxton having a hot start but this is only in the regular season, in the playoffs vets will have a bigger impact than him. Griffin and LMA will prob even better than Claxton in the playoffs cuz they are vets they already been there before they know opponent schemes and plays. People act like how he plays now will be how he plays in the playoffs like I said look at Giannis and Jokic when they were 21 unless Claxton is better than them he wont be a major contributor this year thats why Nets need Griffin and LMA. You cant ignore the precendent that has been set before.
Yeah man look at why MJ is called the Goat. Its cuz he has 6 rings and people pretend he would have had 8 if he didnt retire. Nobody really calls KD a cupcake snake now cuz he has 2 rings. The only one who still gets hate despite having rings is Lebron and thats only cux the MJ crowd doesnt want him to be the goat. If he learned his place and bowed down to Jordan he'd be as loved as Kobe. Nobody thinks of Dame time as one of the all time pgs despite him carrying a jeavier load than Steph Curry for pretty much his entire career. Curry "proved" himself this year but thats Lillard every single year and nobody gives a F. GSW isnt even a decent team Portland always a threat in the playoffs with freaking CJ Mcollum and Nurkic lol those guys are nobodies. Lots of people rank Irving over Nash simply cuz Irving has a ring and Nash doesnt, despite Nash being MVP multi times. Rings are just that important thats why players do everything now just to win 1 and get thr monkey off their back.
Nobody is saying they will be posting up, what is this 2006? What I am saying is that people will be driving by these 2 at will and that will stress an already average defense, especially if you do not have a rim protector.
I agree but can you guard adequately with Blake and or LA playing. Kyrie, Harden Blake and LA are all below average perimeter defenders, Harden and Kyrie cn play adequate team defense but Blake and LA are terrible on the perimeter and protecting the rim.
Precedent? You are ignoring the precedent that LA and Blake are terrible defensively and have no precedent that they will be better than Claxton. When Capella played during the 1st run to the WCF he was a plus defensively, people where commenting how good he was on switches, I have no idea why you are using raw statistics for anything.
I haven't been paying attention to the NBA now that the Rockets are bad, but im glad Brooklyn and Harden are trying to break the NBA. Harden on a super team is scary hours. Especially when he was putting fear in people playing with g-leaguers.
Considering they don't really lose to winning teams even at less than full strength, they are pretty scary. Harden doesn't have to be a hero every game for them to win and you can tell by how loose he looks on the court now. He just gives it up as soon as he is doubled, and Kyrie gets to play hero ball against single coverage with no help defenders. It's pretty sick.
