I think the Rockets asking price is about right. Anyone with potential on a rookie deal. Doesn’t need to be a high end guy...just a flyer that the FO likes. I don’t think PJs value is as low as some assume. His issues this year are all context related. Playoff teams know his value, and will bid him up above a 2nd round pick.
When you buy a used car do you buy it priced off what it will do? Salesman: it's a beautiful car, put a new coat of paint, new tires, new audio system and you got a great ride! Buyer: yeah but it has 150,000 miles, rust spots everywhere, bald tires, and when you take it out on the freeway it sputters and let's out a kick back. He is not 32 year old Karl Malone......teams see him as 36 year old Chuck Hayes. Sorry, it is what it is.
PJ + House for Dinwiddie + Shamet Shamet is still under rookie contract next year. Dinwiddie will be an expiring contract next year while recovering his ACL . Nets get a couple of 3&D guys to help this year and both played well with Harden.
I've never been compared to The Donald before and I've never read "The Art of The Deal" but I'm guessing this is Business 101. If everyone wanted Ticker the price would be high and if people are waiting for the buyout....price is low. Supply and Demand. No takers for Blake Griffin (w/Pistons) and probably not much for Tucker as well. ..while a Rocket. Why pay for Tucker when I can get him out of the junk yard for parts.....or Cody Ziller equivalent? Or whichever Ziller is out of the league.
B Mac showed that he can be a sniper off the bench when given an appropriate role in an offense as a spot-up shooter. You know, not having to dribble and make passes on the move because those decisions are best left to more qualified players. He needs a coach that recognizes that asking him to do those things not only exposes his deficiencies but also hurts the team. He knocked down 40% of his 3 pointers on over 6 attempts per game last year and he sucks in Silas's offense.
Actually coach killed his confidence by asking him to do more than just shoot. I'm disappointed that Silas can't seem to understand the strengths and weaknesses of his players.
Shamet is a bad player? Dude after a slow start is heating up from the three point line like a microwave and is a very good on ball defender. He is really underrated piece. The Nets won’t trade him for peanuts
Hell, who's left to play, though? I'm about to get a call-up. Fifty two year old white boy with tight hamstrings. Me.
