I don’t mind this TBH. Wall is a pretty good culture setter. Many rookies along with KPJ can learn a few things from Wall.

Whatever, he is likely to be bought out at some point.

I feel bad for him because he does seem like a nice guy. Hope he gets to ring chase somewhere.

if you are a good GM you find a way to move Wall or find a good shooting coach to teach players how to finish after his passes

You know I would love to believe it’s just a puff spin piece because they know they can’t trade him but.... this FO is just dumb enough to believe Wall is a good player. Lol.

We should have just traded Russ to the Knicks for spare parts when we had the chance. Even if the reports were true that they wanted assets attached, who cares? Throwing in the Detroit FRP and/or Danuel House would have been enough.

Instead, we might have to watch John Wall for 2 more dreadful years.

water is wet. it doesn't take a genius to understand the rockets are stuck with him until more time comes off his supermax deal that isn't getting moved anytime soon

Rockets could be using Reverse Psychology.

Saying John Wall is a Great Veteran, We see him here.

Internally Rockets want to trade him so the Rockets can get Assets back.

He has some great leadership qualities but unfortunately he has been playing pretty selfishly for us.

If he can reel that in and play within the team concept I think he could be really solid.

The question is, will he do that?

    You think? :p

Scott Perry GM Knicks: "'Few more years', ay? Watch.......this."
Tom Thibodeau: "Who are you calling? Not Stone."
(winks at Tom) Perry (on phone): "Rafael, buddy, how are you? How many losses in a row now? Pretty rough. Listen, the reason I called---"
Thibodeau: "Do not trade for Wall."
Perry: "---is I want to deal for Wall, we have $15,000,000 in cap space---"
Thibodeau: "It was a Jedi mind trick, do not trade for Wall---"
Perry: "---and thought, 'Wall needs a change of scenery'. So, let's talk turkey."
Thibodeau: "Please don't do this. Mister Dolan, don't let him do this."
    Dolan: (whispering to Perry) "You/re....a........genius."

Wall has been professional and has been helping us to the promised land (top 4 pick).

Yeah i think this has to be the public posture for all of our vets at this point, especially those players on contract for the next couple years. If someone offered us a way to get out of the John Wall contract for expirings or inconsequential picks ...of course they would. Flexibility is key if you are trying to rebuild a team. Moving Wall's contract would allow us to take on other contracts for assets for example. The only way you create the leverage to trade him without giving up assets is if they convince teams they are okay keeping him. And frankly, in Wall's case, i'm not sure that holding onto him is the end of the world. A year from now his contract might actually be a net positive.

At the very least we have to get something for our expiring vet contracts. And if someone is willing to take Gordon for expirings, i think you do that to create more playing time for the youngsters and create more cap flexibility to acquire new assets.
