Can’t trade Harden for so-so players during the season. Then he goes on to be top 5 player in the league in 21/22. We will never hear the end of it. His trade value will continue to plummet since his contract gets shorter as time goes and he gets older too. And don't forget he can talk to the media constantly during all this, creating a toxic locker-room for our young guilds (who will be here for a new rebuild), you prob don't want a toxic culture in a rebuild. If Harden was 28yo, I wouldn't mind trading him in the off-season but he's not that young so the earlier we trade him the better not only for us, but for the team that wants him (since they can use him for the playoffs). No. Rockets would be lucky to get Simmons. He is absolutely a foundational piece. Sixers were awful (with Embiid) before Simmons started playing. Remember the end of that season, Embiid was hurt and the Sixers won 16 games in a row. Simmons is not Harden but overall, both sides of the floor, he may translate to more wins.
