It makes no sense to hire a coach that was no ones first choice. maybe they are that dumb.... and in the dumbness make the right decision anyway (imo)... that’d be hella weird.
Only thing i can guess, especially considering how much time they took to decide is, since Tilman wanted something new (so, no Lucas), and Harden wanted someone easy to play for (so, no JVG), at the end they settled for something in the middle and went with Silas, someone who will bring something new to the table, but won't exactly step in and dictate too much, i don't know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
news i learned from this ... Stein is on TIlman's payroll . If our players wanted one guy and the owner wanted a different ... how'd we end up with a guy that was neither's first choice? Timan doesnt know the word compromise ... is this a plot to lay this hiring at the feet of DM ?
Not buying this. I could’ve written since it’s all over the media and doesn’t take a genius to claim who wanted who. Clearly this is a move to start turmoil and I’d do it too as Stein to create traffic to my employer’s website as well as my own twitter account.
Was just giving a look at the last thread @Eddie Cecco made a couple of weeks ago, and found interesting how some of his quotes seem to kinda fit with what Stein reported: - "They are quite disoriented" -> took them a lot to pick a coach - "They believe the new coach will guide next moves but the problems would come if the next coach didn't like Russ" -> Tilman wanted to build a new culture etc, JVG makes sense considering that, and while i remember JVG praising Harden a lot, i'm quite sure he usually doesn't do the same regarding Russ, as far as i remember at least so, i can see an old school coach like JVG not being exactly thrilled about Westbrook - "Lucas has an advantage cause Harden/Westbrook" -> check
Harden is actually very much fine with Silas being the coach and has definitely sat and met with him by now.
