Bregman is considered the Astros best player by many but in the BIG moments, I trust the other core players more, especially in the postseason. Oh well, team is down but not totally out but tough hole that they have dug for themselves at this point.
Pretty much. That one error cost us the game. That's it. They didn't pay for any of their mistakes. I do hope ending this game this way will get the offense going. If we were to win this game like that though it would have ripped their hearts out, everything went their way and they almost lost it. Astros have been here before.
I don't care if it was a lime green softball coming 50 mph right down the middle... The pitcher just threw 8 balls in a row, loaded the bases... We had him on the ropes. You gotta keep the pitcher working man.
Bregman had a great pitch to hit and put a decent swing on it, just got under it too much. A line drive there and two score easy. Even on the ground that direction as they were in the shift.
That really is what separates the good teams from the mediocre especially in post season. While this looked a lot like some of the Stros teams of past late in this game this really started to remind me of the Twins playoff losses. In many of them it was the failure to get runners home as the Twins would often get on base but strand runner after runner.
Nope, but, I think we can shake these guys up. They are all happy go lucky over there, that moment of pressure had them on the edge. I think we can get to them. Win game 3, put pressure on them game 4...they are hittable. In fact, our pitchers have had better games. I think we're playing better than them we just don't get timely hits and they do.
The Astros just really really suck with runners on. Its their achilles this playoffs and last year too. They just tighten up and suck way too hard with runners in scoring position. The playoff sample is too big to ignore. They just do nothing but fail time after time after time with men on base.
"The Astros were always destined to lose this game. My watch told me so. And, I decoded it in the Declaration of Independence."
Yup it was a meat ball Bregman almost squared it up enough to get it out but he didn't so ya we lost. Can't blame Bregman for swinging at that.
Bregs did not put a good swing on that ball. He was late and it was a harmless shallow fly out. it was exactly what we did not need in that at bat get em tomorrow. cant win until we stop choking at the plate.
