I had a dentist appointment this morning, and saw this on the cover of Time Magazine for March 15th. Notice the spelling of "desserts" in the upper right corner:

You would think a major magazine like Time would have better editors....

Actually, it's not a typo. She's being sent to Iraq for reform.

You must not be in the spelling contest. ;)

"Deserts" is right, since it's derived from "deserve." As in "Martha's getting what she deserves." From m-w.com:

Main Entry: 3de·sert
Pronunciation: di-'z&rt
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English deserte, from Old French, from feminine of desert, past participle of deservir to deserve
1 : the quality or fact of deserving reward or punishment
2 : deserved reward or punishment -- usually used in plural <got their just deserts>
3 : EXCELLENCE, WORTH

Just a random fact I picked up somewhere that I felt like sharing. (It's more interesting than UConn-GT right now....)

Quit being so technical on me! I would have thought they were trying for a play on words with "desserts", because of her cooking. But nooooo, you have to go and be all "right" about it....

:D :D
