Astros postseason staff is inundated with multiple quality starters/multiple inning guys. 1. JV (Hopefully) 2. Grienke 3. McCullers 4. Javier/Valdez/Bielak/Urquidy 5. Pressly 6. Peacock 7. Pruitt 8. Javier/Valdez/Bielak/Urquidy 9. Javier/Valdez/Bielak/Urquidy 10. Javier/Valdez/Bielak/Urquidy 11. Taylor 12. Paredes 13. Scrubb/Abreu/Rodney/James/Devo, etc
Asked and was told he is very much a creature of habit and is a person very much on an internal clock. He has struggled getting used to playing at a different time of year without crowds etc. Plus for as modest as he is, he is a people person and really has taken the COVID protocol harder than most. There is nothing wrong with him physically, no injuries and his bat speed isn’t changed. He is working with the coaches and Yuli and Alex. Altuve, Alex and Yuli all are considered really good at identifying mechanical problems... they worked with Yordan some in the playoffs as well.
He's not any worse than some of the 'stars' in the league struggling badly... batting averages across the league are significantly down. Plus, the ball is dejuiced.
This is one Reason that Kyle Tucker is important. He plays the Outfield. Let Alvarez DH..less stress on those knees. People don't realize Tucker has had only 225 + 12 postseason at Bats in his career. Most Starters get between 500-650 at Bats in a season. He will get better as he get those at Bats.
