So that negates Black Lives Matters? Cops should be able to do whatever they want to Blacks and Hispanic people because others do bad things? There are many that blame racism for all Black People’s problems,; they would be wrong. Black on Black crime is a huge issue. Black committing crimes are a problem. However, those issues cannot be fixed without addressing systemic racism because many of those issues are directly or indirectly caused by systemic racism. Lack of educational opportunities, lack of jobs, system that forced black families to split to survive. That lead to a culture of single parent homes. Same for brown communities.

The fix cannot be done by minority communities alone.

Why is it that some seem to believe that those that support police reform or an increase in civil rights...... believe that black people or other minority groups are angels. That really isn't the case at all.

 

It's a huge thing from Trump supporters, I think it helps them to think Black lives don't matter because they are all one step up from animals and that's the reason why cops do what they do.

BLM is illegitimate now anyway.
They only care about black lives when cops or white people shoot them while ignoring black on black killings such as all the children over the last couple weeks.

There is no reason they should change their focus until their original focus is corrected. It isn't that Breast cancer awareness group isn't also concerned about heart disease or lung cancer, but they do focus on the one issue. It is disingenuous to criticize them for not speaking out about the other illnesses.

 

The problem I have with BLM as a name is this implies if you are black that your life matters when we know that’s completely at odds with the mission of BLM. This is confusing on purpose to sway a community but then when there is killings of black children by black perpetrators , the victims Families are looking around saying what about us? What about us gawdemit?! ..

 

It’s a group protesting police brutality against black people. How is the name or mission the antithesis of that? It’s incredibly simple

I don't believe that. I think that a lot of the protesters were out in good faith to protest the George Floyd murder and police brutality generally. However, there were others present who purported to be "protesting" but seemed to use the occasion for vandalism, looting and in some cases violence.

I am not convinced that the BLM organization is the same thing as the BLM movement. They seem very different.

It also seemed like some of the worst offenders were young, white adults who, when interacting with Blacks who may have a different viewpoint or Black LEO's, seemed to be incredibly disrespectful. Watching a bunch of kids yell and hurl insults at people who dressed up as historical figures and argued against the destruction of a memorial would have been funny if it wasn't so sad.
