Tunsil, Warford, Martin, Mancz, Howard, Heck, Fulton or Kelemete, Scharping, R. Johnson would be a nice group on the o-line and quite an improvement over the last two seasons. Don’t know what kind of savings releasing Fulton or Kelemete creates but add that too the cap space with Hyde, Ryan, Reid, maybe Earl Thomas out there.
Line or Tunsil, Warford, Martin, Sharping, Howard with that kind of depth would be awesome. And all young
Do we have the cap to sign warford, Logan Ryan and Eric Reid? If we got all 3 I think I’d feel ALOT more comfortable with our team
Would love Warford and Ryan, but I’m not sure about Reid. He had a ton of tackles but according to Pff he was terrible in coverage https://www.catscratchreader.com/20...hers-defensive-players-per-pro-football-focus I get the appeal of adding Reid’s brother, but we’ve got to improve the coverage ability of our secondary. Safety is definitely a position that could be upgraded though.
This is kind of where I'm finding myself. Logan Ryan would make us solid at CB and may allow us to look at playing Lonnie at S some--he's got experience there. He'd be my priority. Warford appears to be a clear upgrade to Fulton, and would fill that RG spot next to young Titus. While I'm leery of signing a safety that can't cover, I wonder how much of the scheme or his usage was responsible for his poor showing in coverage.
Currently $17M in cap space, cutting Fulton would save $7M, Kelemente another $4M. Ryan wants $10M+ per season so don’t think we’ll be able to swing that. Makes you wonder if we could’ve spent a little more and gotten Ryan instead of Roby though. The big kicker is how they structure DW4’s deal. If they elect a large signing bonus ala Russell Wilson, that would easily eat 2/3 of our remaining cap. Can’t really defer much in terms of a roster bonus to 2021 without shedding some major weight. Cooks, DJ, McKinney come to mind. Hell even JJ’s 17.5M might be hard to swallow depending on how he plays this season.
