Tons of NBA players got their start in our G League while simultaneously we’ve been championship or bust under Harden.

    Sometimes the timing doesn’t work.

So did the Rockets, which is why they developed him the G League.

It was reported here by an insider that the Rockets were trying to add Covington. Not sure why it fell through but it was being discussed and he easily fit into a potential deal.

I'm not going to tag them but it was legit.

This is what the rockets do. Give away assets only to give up more to get them back. Very silly for an arm chair GM like me

lol, yet you are quick to label everyone a bust.

Covington obviously had the 3-and-D potential and I think a lot of people saw that, even if it hadn't manifested at the NBA level. But McHale was too clueless to let him develop.

ive been posting its typical morey ball. So much talent in the draft given away via trades. Some of those pieces were involved in big trades for our stars but if you think about it a wealth of talent has been given up not to mention future picks etc. in exchange for the win now mentality. This is Moreys hallmark and legacy. Will it come to fruition in terms of titles? That’s yet to be seen but the window is narrow and time is ticking away.

it happens. Sometimes players develop. Sometimes the scouts and player development people misjudge and allow players to get away. Can’t fault morey and his staff. There’s an argument though whether moreys approach to giving up draft picks and current talent for players he believes could help us win now works. Only titles won will dictate this. Thus far it hasn’t but there still is a window of opportunity to win it all within next couple years albeit small. Only time will tell.

    Covington isn't even a good shooter -- sub-36% career 3PT.

He'll improve the defense so there's that.

I dont think title should be the barometer whether it works or not cuz bball is dictated by talent, only 5 people on each team can be on the court at the same time. Morey can try as hard as humanly possible but when GSW brought in KD for free when they already had 4 all stars on the squad that's like checkmate from the beginning of the match.
