He’s one of the great role players in Rockets history. It’s unreal the impact he has. He hasn’t been getting as many shots lately, though. So hopefully he can get a little more involvement
I can agree with that, he can defend 1-5. He’s extremely disciplined, great feet and doesn’t rely on gimmicks. How he’s never been on an all defensive team is beyond me.
I like PJ, but he should not be playing 36 MPG for a contender. They've gotta find someone to take some of those (and a few of Danuel's) minutes.
d'antoni needs to realize that there are like 20 minutes in the middle of the game where most teams are just going through the motions (because it's an 82 game season and no one is going all out for all 48 minutes) and just throw some bodies at those minutes. even the difference between above average and below average players (not superstars and scrubs) is only a few points over the course of the whole game. over 15-20 minutes it's barely noticeable. now, a guy like popovich mastered those 20 minutes by being so good he could even get the role players to play like a well-oiled machine and that's how he could play guys like duncan and ginobili 26-28 minutes and just let the role players eat those minutes. i don't expect d'antoni to be that good, but even 5 to 10 minutes of below average players shouldn't completely submarine most nba teams against most other nba teams. might you lose an extra game or two over the course of 82 games? probably, but being rested for the playoffs is worth it. now if you're playing an elite team, sure, cut those role player minutes back. but the fact he can't find 10 minutes for clemons and chandler and clark and rivers to keep 4 or 5 minutes off the harden's and tucker's of the world is crazy.
If it were as easy as you say, wouldn't every team have mastered this load management calculus? Rockets are tied for 2nd in stacked West right now, D'Antoni must be doing something right.
He needs rest taking 3s require a lot of endurance esp Rox are playing fast paced now. MDA needs to get House and Clark burn at the PF spot. But the good new is Rox had lole 3-4 days rest so he should be ok for the next couple of games.
Lets be real its not like MDA is doing 3d chess on the court. The roster practically coaches itself. Maybe if we had Spoelstra the Rox would be first seed by now.
a must-have asset for championship caliber veteran, intangible impact on/off court, not for sale adorable bulldog, play w/ heart, plus smart stopper from 1-5 fashion icon shoe mania -------------- made in texas
I think that's the point of Jeff Green being the backup to Tucker. He's known more for his offense than defense. House should provide more than he did vs the Jazz.
