it happened where i live in australia too. if i don't do midnight mass, i sure as hell won't appreciate firworks at that hour. i've noticed companies realeasing decadent easter food products over the last couple of years. maybe it's a trend to turn religious holidays into secular ones.

They're not allowed in Spring Branch. Doesn't stop people though. We started hearing them on December 23rd, I think. They ramped it up on Christmas Eve though. Normally don't hear much before New year's Eve, but I guess its a special year. Probably Hispanic.
I like fireworks at New Year and 4th of July.... but not Christmas. Doesn't seem to fit the occasion.
Huh. Here in the country, you know "white trash" area and such...I haven't heard a shot tonight. Though, when one of my buddies from Houston showed up for a bbq a few years ago, he did compliment my extended family thusly: "Yall are a much higher class of redneck than I'm accustomed to."
I was at a home care facility last evening and we had fun watching nurses and social workers doing the fireworks lit in the backyard
