Also... Luis Scola with 15 points (3/4 from three), 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block in 21 minute in a win against South Korea.
Dun know how they intend to hold it dine with a big rotation of Myles/Plumlee and Brook Lopez. Doesn't stand out.
Dudes only 5'11 170, pretty damn close to the average American males size. I guess you could say he too, is normalus.
After watching USAs fisrt game vs Serbia's first game I have to say that I think they are the better team...or well, maybe Angola just sucks. They seem to lose by 50 or so points every FIBA/Olympic tourney lol. One thing I think about basketball growing internationally is that I really expect that it will continue its growth. Especially since a basketball team is only made up of 5 people on the court, 12 or so on a team, and so small countries can basically compete with larger ones unlike in say soccer. Also that the sport rewards individual dominance, so a country can ride on the back of a superstar and compete, unlike Soccer where even if you have a Messi you still need to develop other world class players. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Greece medaled or wins it on Giannis alone. He's the best player in the tourney.
Is that really what's going on? I'm asking because I remember a couple of years ago his Chinese team wouldn't allow him to play in World Cup competition or something.
I believe it was right after his back surgery, or after a single season in China. When he still had aspiration to get back into NBA. Most likely he didn't want to risk it, neither did CBA team. He really has some serious beef going on with the current one.
Argentina takes the win over Nigeria (which has NBA players like Aminu, Okogie, Diogu, Uzoh and NCAA player like Nwara). Luis Scola with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Luis is a beast. I know he is old as **** and his defense is terrible, but I wish the Rockets would sign him.
He is so chill and such a nice locker room presence. I think giving him a veteran minimum would prove to be great value.
