Drama drama drama. Thanks a lot Clowney. You just had to start this big mess by holding out. Hope the door does hit ya on your way out.
Texans are the ones who don't want him, don't want to pay him, didn't try to negotiate with him, are shopping him.
....don't have a LT...don't have a RB1...have $38M in cap room Our GM is on it. Other teams know who to call. Brian.
This, I don't even want to post the highlights here...but the '14 TCU/Ole Miss Peach Bowl has to be one of the biggest asskickings in bowl history....I'm gonna post it anyway:
jesus you don't want Mailta. I'm a big birds man but jesus he's nothing more than a 3rd or 4th OT yep of player at this stage in his career. I would assume you guys try and snag bigV who held up in our super bowl run when peters went down and try and press us for a middling pick. Im also not even sure why we would go after him, he doesn't seem to have the greatest fit or need with us outside of just sheer raw potential.
Uh that’s not true at all. Hypothetically speaking, what if Clowney said I want to be the highest paid defensive player in the league. Does that change things for you or no?
Texans blew it by not getting out in front of this and trading him when another team could have extended him for a long term contract. I would be surprised if we get much back for a pro bowl caliber player.
You must have better sources than Aaron WIlson then. Maayybbeee Brian Gaine did? And no, I don't believe Clowney is necessarily looking to reset the market. Now if they offered Clark/Lawrence money (or slightly higher but under Mack/Donald) then fine, blast Clowney, but they didn't even do that.
Come on. Cal, BOB and the boys are handling this so I am sure it will work our well. The fans have every right to have complete confidence in the front office handling the Clowney matter.
Oh thought you meant that they never negotiated at all which wasn’t the case. Aaron Wilson reported early on that they weren’t close on a deal which means negotiations did happen. Did they reach an impasse and break them off? Sure but that’s different from not negotiating at all.
What exactly would he be showing up for?? He hasn't signed his tender because there's literally ZERO incentive for him to do so. How on Earth can ANYONE blame Clowney for this ****-show???
Aaron Wilson https://www.iheart.com/podcast/139-in-the-trenches-26996396/ -Texans are determined to do it -Feel it's very likely -Issue is are you getting value -Clowney unlikely to ever sign a long term deal here because of a fundamental disconnect on his value -They didn't negotiate with him this offseason -Nowhere on a deal -Too much has gone on, hard to mend fences -Eagles, Seahawks (told he would be willing to play for either of them) -Miami (Not so much; Flores back-channeled kicked tired on it, wasn't interested; don't think it'll be Miami) -Buffalo (Doesn't need him & he doesn't want to go to Buffalo) -If it'll happen, someone who's wheeling & dealing like Howie Roseman or the Seahawks, who have done business with the Texans for Duane Brown -Other agents are trying to get Clowney
