If this was previously posted, apologies. Morey took his GM chair in 2007. Stats measure from the 07/08 season to 17/18. Throughout that decade, Morey has paid the second least and got the most wins. With changing coaches, his teams had the second best W-L over that time period. It does kind of prove the Les was cheap but also that Morey squeezed the most out of every penny he had in his war chest. https://www.thedreamshake.com/2019/...d2So1edswZlXenUY5Bk08bNCvh0b-IFqIKwwb6GkfajiU
So by stats only spurs (who won like half of chapmionship in that timespan lol) are more succesful, but in real life whe havent won anything since middle of the 90s. Another useless staff by Moreys pals
Just imagine if he wasn't handcuffed by ownership and could spend more freely ? Last years MLE went unspent . this years MLE is mostly unspent. Ryno and a bevy of assets to duck the tax. Shumpert bird rights withering away on the vine.
Bro shut the hell up lol. Im sure most people would just rather win than lead on another meaningless statsheet
Cmon man, hows it meaningless though? You dont like that when our own GM is handcuffed by spending we still get the most out of our signings? Or that we have the most wins in the NBA since he has taken over? And that we are a title contender without being allowed to tank? I think Morey wants to win more than anyone. So because we arent the Warriors or Spurs who've had significantly more talent than us, its all meaningless? The fact is, most teams dont win championships, we are on the cusp, we are almost there. And we havent been out of the playoff picture for awhile. Cmon, this is goofy stuff.
Well, they got no success and high standards. We got moderate postseason success and not so high standards (with some of the folks).
I'd say the standards are pretty lofty - Get to the playoffs and earn a matchup the Warriors and do your best to beat them. Once in the first round , once in the Semi's and twice in the conference finals …. The last series was the first in NBA history where every game was decided by 6 or fewer points. The year before , they were a CP3 hamstring away from knocking off the best team in this era of the NBA. That team broke the NBA and while many GM's were waiting for them to get old and go away , Morey tried to beat them and came within a whisker ….
It is always easier to say win a championship but Defenses figured us out more often than not. Rockets would not have been favored against Milwaukee or Toronto, even the Sixers would have given the Rox a hard time. FYI I meant those years prior to CP3, those were some mediocre times. Harden won tons of regular season games. Not much to expect.
Its led us a hamstring away. We've been close. Lets see what Russ, Harden, Gordon, PJ and Capela can do.
eh getting gassed over regular season wins I'd rather win 1 ring and have 4-5 meh seasons that always coming up short in the playoffs
You have to put yourself in the situation like the Worriers that you can still compete with 1 or 2 stars going out. We never had that, we was always the underdog, yeah, that time we had HC advantage but it was still no guarantee.
Nobody can be in the position the Warriors were in. If Kawhi tore his achilles instead of Durant, the Raptors couldn't have won a game against them Warriors. If Lillard tore his ACL the Blazers would have been swep...oh nevermind hehe. 99.9% of teams can't win a playoff series if their top stars get injured. The Warriors were a historical anomaly.
All I am saying, top heavy not in the best sense....... If the Clippers could have gotten Harden and Kawhi, that is another story. It also depends upon how good your stars are for sure. Teams win out based on other team's injuries, that is pretty common now.
