all i've heard all day from any nba follower is how harden was gifted 18 FT's last nite. basically, there's no way he's going to allowed to win mvp again.

Media has a lot recency bias, if Harden can have a few more explosive games near the end of the season and lead us back to top 3 in the West, I think he has a good chance to win the MVP.
GS, Den, OKC, and Portland are bound to slide some. If we can iust go on one 10 to 15 game winning streak, we will def end up in the top 3... That would be quite awesome considering, the Rockets with all the games they have blown to inferior teams would otherwise be on pace for another 60 plus win season...

Harden deserves it, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet against him getting it. Media is too easy to read.
We need harden to come out and just let the media know that MVP isnt important this year, this year's goal is to win it all.

Harden got a lot of praise on ESPN's Around The Horn and PTI after that Miami Heat game. Even got Bob Ryan to come around on him. Jalen Rose has Harden as the MVP at this point. So, the "influencers" got moved by that "signature moment" game. Those things matter. Harden needs to pile up more signature moment games coupled with wins.
So did the game before that against the kings, but we didn't hear a peep that coach bud limited him to 24 min. The media man, it doesn't matter what really happens. The only thing they cant argue is wins, so keep the Ws coming, that would help his mvp chances and our playoff seeding.
16 points is basically the 1st half for Harden. Giannis is a taller Westbrook, don't know if he will be a good shooter. Giannis shooting form looks so robotic like Westbrook. the mvp criteria changes weekly if Harden drops 3 more 55+ points statline before the season while Rockets secure the 3rd seed, I think he has a good chance to win it. Otherwise, the media will just vote for Giannis heavily especially because the Houston media don't even get a single voter.
