Letting our players walk in free agency is scary.
Last year we won 65 games with quite a few injures. James Harden missed 10 games and Chris Paul missed 24 games. If we keep the same team all year we easily could have challenged for 70 wins.
We lost Ariza and Moute and replaced with Kenneth Faried, Austin Rivers and Iman Shumpert who can do more off the dribble and in transition. Now this is 65 win team again with future HOFs.
Will Daryl Morey repeat the mistakes by letting players walk in free agency in summer?

OP it's not a mistake. U need to get it in your head. That's just how it will work with us. U do know every year we pick up these guys n let them go. N every year after that we find other guys too

The reason we do this is because we are play 3 guys pretty much max. Which is find cause if u have 3 guys that are that good u can get away with every year getting buy out n still competing for a championship.

Getting plenty of other teams not name warriors that keep those guys n still have never better then the rockets...why because they dont have a awesome core 3 guys

Now on the same point u have to trust morey. Look what u are saying he is always so good that by the playoffs we have one of the best rosters.....so shouldnt u trust him then to do what he always do. The parts are replaceable. Morey is the guy that know how to get them that's why we pay him. So dont worry. Come next year we will have another set of steals like every year

I hope we retain Faried. Rivers started off strong, but has really come back down to Earth. I dunno if that's purely due to injury, or if he's just inconsistent, but of all those players you listed, Faried should be #1 priority.

Hopefully Shumpert can start balling out tho.

Can we look at Luc’s season and stop calling him walking a mistake?

This is such a tired and inaccurate story line.

It's amazing what a win against the Warriors will do for your resume. Morey was a bum 48 hours ago failing Harden not getting him help. Now the pickups 65% of Clutchfans hated, or didn't like initially, (Rivers, House, Faried, Shump, TJ) are now pieces that cannot be let go in free agency. Now Morey's bumness is being extrapolated and predestined for this summer.

What a time to be alive.

You've trusted Mury this far...why not a little further?

He didn't blow up the Dwight team that reached the wcf. We gonna roast him for that too?

Yeah, and if by supposedly avoiding the repeater tax this year, Tilman shows he's willing to pay to win (we won't know this until sometime in the summer, possibly late summer / early fall WYB*, because we always wait with baited breath for third-tier players to accept the minimum in order to appear on NBA radar again).

What do you mean. Austin has been perfect to me still. Did his job until cp3. All u want is just him when cp3 is on the bench to give u good penetration n aggressiveness. That's all. We dont need him to be super sayian just a good back up which he is.

Hell ariza too. Not giving him 15 mill was not a mistake lol. Morey actually was proven to be right. The mistake was the people we signed in the offseason not the people we let walk

nope... but wont have cap to work with.... soo people and the Rockets will have to compromise.

Trade is the only way we get another star. BEAL PLZ.

But we need to resign rivers, Farid, and House.

This is a ridiculous thread with no context. You want Ariza back? Meh. No healthy Luc?

Any who. What is the non-taxpayer MLE looking like? It’s like 12 mil right?

    No kidding......

    "This team is SOOOOO deep."

    "This team's bench sucks."

    LOL.

How about we see how the team does in the playoffs and then re-assess. A bit too early to make conclusions until we see how the team and the rotations respond.

You don't really believe that Morey really makes personnel decisions for this team....... do you?

This is way too logical for a GARM post.

We are over the cap, and have no bird rights on Austin River or Kenneth Faried or even Danuel House. All 3 of those players would have fit within the Taxpayer mid-level exception (mini mid-level) for about $5.3 million total.

It has nothing to do with Morey, and everything to do with how much those 2 or 3 players get on the open market as free agents vs what we can actually provide.

Only Iman Shumpert came with Bird rights.
