I respectfully disagree. G League experience is one thing but we needed to bring them along as backups for this old, tired legged squad. As part time contributors. Nene's inability to contribute and Tucker going from the league's premier corner 3 shooter to a guy who could just barely graze the front of the rim says more than "need G league experience" in my opinion.

But I think we can agree on House. He wasn't just a backup getting some experience. He was a starter and a dog at that.

 

27% from 3? For the season? People on this board, who are pleading for House, would hound Morey to unload him if he posted those numbers for the Rockets.

I hear you. There is no doubt that we need young legs. I might change my mind if Hartenstein outplays Nene in a few games, provided if he gets some valuable minutes. Faried is far ahead of him in the rotation with good reason. I'm interesting in seeing if Isaiah can give some spacing with his long range 3 ball shot. Clark is not bad, even as an undersized 4. I think he needs to shoot and rebound better before coming back to the team.

 

No doubt, but he is a jack of all trade type who brings some toughness on the court. There is no other choice right now for the 3 spot.

I suppose I've argued myself into the position that, given our roster situation, we actually should convert House for the rest of this season, and then let him walk away in the offseason. If he's no great loss in the G league, he's no great loss in the NBA.

 

Don't worry my G. Morey will make the right moves today.

He's only played 10 games in the G league this season, 11 now with that 10-20 performance, which upped his 3p% to 32%. That's a pretty small sample. Last year he shot 39% over 35 games with 7.2 3pa per game, which is a much better sample size. Also keep in mind he shot 39% over 25 NBA games this year, with the Rockets.

 

I think it might even better to sign him to a 1 year deal with RFA rights if that is possible, if he plays better than expected. If not, then the Rockets can let him go at the end of this season.
I have no idea what the Rockets are thinking, if they can find someone better than him at the three spot, I'm all for it.

 

Man, in those House highlights....I am seeing catch and shoot 3’s. 3’s off the dribble. 3’s on step backs. Dribble penetration shot creation. Swing passes for 3’s. Blocked shots.

Shumpert is out (Ennis traded) and we are going to sign 2 scrubs for NBA roster perfunctory reasons and House is just sitting there.

BTW, normally after a Rockets player has a HUGE game like that in the G-league, MOREY would be tweeting about it. Radio silence from him. Clearly shows where things are in contract negotiations.

 

I am disgusted with the fact that we still haven’t signed him. We have a 6’3 shot put specialist starting at sf and our new “3nD” wing is injured. Wtf is the hold up?

 

Faried definitely filled up the backup (well, starter spot I suppose) 5 role. Maybe less pressing for Hartenstein now that Faried is here but they still haven't done anything about backup 4. It's some kind of weird mentality that these young guys are expected to be PERFECT on defensive rotations and shooting but veterans can miss assignment after assignment, shot after shot. Shouldn't the higher expectations sit with the veterans??? Honestly, it's bugging me so much I'm almost becoming anti-D'antoni over it. He's a good coach but that really bothers me.
