I have friends in China. I talk with them often about their culture and the changing of it. To my surprise many people are staring to think freely and China has opened up quite a bit. There are so many traditions that will never change nor should they really. But that’s a little different than their traditional arts. I just reached out to one of my friends and he had no idea what MMA even was. He hadn’t seen the story. To be honest he doesn’t look like a very good fighter. I do believe that well rounded MMA fighters would most often win against any single art, though.
I remember when BJJ was all the rage because of the Gracies, until they got their butt kicked by more well rounded fighters. I'm not saying BJJ isn't good to learn, but if that's all you do, you are limited by dogma.
