What are your thoughts of Astros going after Kimbrel?

Kimbrel hasn't been dominant in 3 of the last 4 seasons. Great absolutely, but not wipeout.

Do I want him on my team, absolutely. Is he worth giving over 60 million dollars, no thank you

 

Crazy to me that on Feb 19 there are still 4 free agents out there who would significantly improve Houston’s already stacked roster. Cmon Crane just drop $100M worth of 1 year deals and get us the all timer:

Gurriel over White. Im sorry, the disrespect that gurriel gets is crazy. White had a crap end of the year. Too Streaky. Gurriel is also pretty good at 1B. Rarely strikes out, and is a doubles machine.

One has to think that the Red Sox want to keep him ... at a market price which must be significantly less than his ask price.

 

Kimbrel is out of his mind if he thinks anyone is giving him a 6y, 9 figure contract.

Holland did the same thing last year and stunk up the joint. Time is not on his side. Take the 3y/50m offer (if any are out there) and play ball. No team is going to pay the type of rate he wants, with his milage, for years 31-37. It just isn't happening. MLB owners are done paying for past performance. Sift things out with the new CBA, but sitting out a year won't help his cause. Nothing will change until 2021, and sitting out till then would pretty much be a career ender for Kimbrel.

 

No, I"m good with Osuna. I'd rather that be used to resign Verlander then overpaying Kimbrel.
