I'm on an island in the Indian Ocean.

Do I need to evacuate to Katy?

I only see seven legs. Not a spider.

Neither an expert nor a fan of spiders, but according to the comments here, it's a Wolf Spider, a member of the Lycosidae family.

    I can confirm, it's a spider. Probably.

    Great movie! Great character!

Delbert McClintock : Would anyone object if I tore this floor out?
    Molly Jennings : I would.
Delbert McClintock : False alarm then. Lead on.

@Yung-T helped me...seems like it is a Huntsman Spider, aka Giant Crab Spider...apparently found quite often in the Maldives.

So, it like hunts man and giant crabs? Sounds bad. I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Translation...non-venomous (I'm assuming but really don't like to assume when it comes to spiders)

    Definitely a huntsman spider.

Big, but definitely not poisonous. Won't trouble you, won't spin webs, and will eat cockroaches, other spiders, mosquitoes (etc). Leave it be - it'll make your stay more pleasant!!

I only moved it out of the way because it scared my wife. Didn't harm it.

No problem. I’d like to hear what the expert has to say. I’m more than positive this spider is special.
