The Texans deserve a lot of credit for winning games. I thought they were finished earlier this year. Yes they have won some close games, but that all evens out as they lost some close games last year and early this season. I still don't think that the Texans are a real Super Bowl threat but I would love to be proven wrong. Too bad Fuller isn't healthy, as he makes a huge difference for Watson... who otherwise is left trying to force passes.
Didn’t both teams play on Christmas? I think the rockets got blown out by phx and oilers beat SF on the road. I could be wrong.
I believe the Rockets had a 22-1 record going into that Christmas game. The Oilers won an ugly game, something like 7-3. I remember Cowboys fans in my extended family cheering hard for the Oilers because a SF loss put them in a better position for the #1 seed.
Now that you say that, I think I'm off a month. I'm thinking it was November of 93 that both teams were undefeated...the Rockets lost on December 3 for the first time to the Hawks.
IIRC I think it was 10-6, Blain Bishop had a phenomenal game. That D was stacked and running the 46 they devastated teams. Yea that was one weird season, don’t forget Buddy Ryan throwing THE PUNCH at Gilbride.
Texans have matched their longest franchise winning streak. The other squad ('11) was the franchise's BEST team..... not '12. Perhaps if there was a 1000-Year Flood in Houston that year, Schaub would've stayed healthy.
@Daddy Long Legs...well done, sir. Well done. I was firmly on the "BURN IT THE F*** DOWN" bandwagon after Week 3. No way in hell I thought they'd be 10-4, in prime position for the division and a bye. There's still much that can improve and I'm not harboring any illusions of playing into February...but it certainly is enjoyable to see.
