Ok yes you are exactly right, he can play all positions So can I, but no one gives a **** because I would be shitty at them
i have a question for the experts.. Can Free agents sign now? I haven't heard of any players signing? just curious when do we usually see the first big wave of agents signings
https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...winter-meetings-hall-of-fame-awards-and-more/ DEC. 9th-13th is when MLB Winter Meetings happen and that’s when “all hell breaks loose” and majority of free agency news breaks.
White can play 3B or 1B. If you need to cover LF, White can man 3rd and Bregman can cover LF. Anyone can DH (except Gattis cause his splits there suck)
Snell is one helluva pitcher. Not surprised he won. TAM will be an interesting team to watch this offseason. Good all around team but zero pitching depth. Teams won’t cower, but wonder how much of BOS and NYY’s positions will affect TAM’s approach. Do they go all in? Do they wait a few years? Can we have Snell please? Pretty pretty please?
Current projected rank of each position for Houston from Fangraphs depth charts: C 16th 1B 20th 2B 2nd SS 3rd 3B 4th LF 19th CF 5th RF 12th DH 7th SP 4th RP 2nd I find the SP ranking shocking. James projects for 2.2 fWAR. And that ranking is without McHugh (they have Peacock, James, Framber, Whitley, Bukauskas, and Rodgers taking the non Verlander-Cole innings). Adding 1 really good SP should be plenty. 5+ ways to get each weakness into the top 10: C: Realmuto, Grandal, Ramos, S Perez, Narvaez 1B: Goldschmidt, Murphy, Donaldson, Santana, Abreu RF/LF: Harper, Pollock, Kiermeier, Brantley, McCutchen, Cruz, Murphy, Donaldson, Moustakas, Machado; playing Tucker full time would also improve the ranking Also fwiw, read yesterday that the majority of the espn panel expects Houston to sign Grandal. I am starting to (probably irrationally) think Houston will make a run at Bryce Harper. They can technically afford him (Altuve is the only commitment running past 2020), and he would help at LF, RF, 1B, and DH. Adding Grandal and Harper to this lineup would be insane. An offseason of Grandal, Harper, and Paxton would likely make Houston the WS favorite.
Shocking that it isn't higher or shocking that it is that high? When I saw Astros at 4, I was surprised it was that low with Verlander and Cole being best 1-2 punch. With McHugh, Peacock, James, Whitley, Valdez, Bukauskas, and Martes, Astros should be able to piecemeal the rest of the rotation. McHugh not getting any projected starts is puzzling. With how McHugh pitched as a reliever, I'd love to see him back as a starter.
