Was the ‘twice’ really necessary when one has 1 and the other has 2?

Feel the same. There is always change with the roster and we even got an ownership change....but Morey is the rudder of the ship. In all of the chaos he is there to keep things moving in the right direction.

Hopefully he has a good strong run with the Harden/CP Rockets and then when it is time for the team to pivot, Tilman will give Morey the greenlight to do a "tank/rebuild" HERE in Houston versus going to another team to do the same thing.

Morey is not perfect, but he is one of the best GMs in the game and the team would be dumb not to try like hell to keep him.

I remember listening to this Bill Simmons podcast and remember this question. It seemed out of left field. I wonder if Simmons had some intel on this and was slyly going to prod Morey here.

Are you asking me if being factually correct was necessary?

Didn't realize he actually INTERVIEWED. Damn. As an employee you have to conduct due diligence. Find your worth, analyze the competition, learn something new. But as an employer, you need to make sure your talent never even gets the chance to sit down with the enemy. That 76ers opening is among the most attractive to an incumbent GM as there has EVER BEEN in the NBA.

Where does it say he interviewed? Sounds like Morey didn't even let it get there.

You're right, maybe he didn't but my assumption was that 76ers expressed interest and the organization said, BYE FELICIA. Apparently we green-lit their pursuit.

It's common for organizations to let their employees interview with others as a nice gesture. Happens all the time. Daryl turning it down without even interviewing probably bolsters their trust.

Yeah the rocket owe him at least a chance. He’s been here 11 years and it’s a sign of good faith.

76ers Foiled in Their Pursuit of Houston’s Daryl Morey

The Philadelphia 76ers have been rebuffed in an attempt to hire Houston’s Daryl Morey as their new general manager, according to two people familiar with the Sixers’ pursuit.

The Sixers had strong interest in hiring Morey to replace the ousted Bryan Colangelo, but Morey could not be lured away from the franchise with which he has spent the past 12 seasons, according to the people, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the situation.

I didn't see a thread for this. Glad Morey turned them down.

Is that a legal move? Offering a contract to someone who already has a contract?

Seems like maybe we should have standing contract offers for Lebron, Kawhi, Kyrie, Ryan Anderson, Dame, Curry, KD, etc., etc....

Would love to find a way for fans to be able to vocally cheer for Morey at a game, or multiple games. Show the appreciation so he feels the fan love in a different way.

If a player or coach was every super loyal to a city, he would be revered--and would know it. I want Morey to get the Gerald Green treatment somehow
