Yay, so NBA fans get to see an all-time great entering the twilight of his career battling Father Time whilst futily attempting to carry an average LA Laker team to a championship. Sounds familiar. Let’s just say I’m not expecting an M. Night Shyamalan twist here.
The Lakers truly are Hollywood....Producing a movie with a premise that’s been done before while featuring a mediocre cast with one easily marketable A-list celebrity. Its a hit with the kids at the box office and has a approval rating around 40% on RottenTomatoes but was made for easy money with no intention whatsoever to contend for an Oscar Award.

Lebron is now a lock to win the MVP next year if he stays healthy.

I think a 38 year old Lebron will still be much more productive than a 37 year old Chris Paul.

This is what I was saying in another thread with someone hotly debating it. He knows he can't beat the Warriors so he made a non basketball decision instead. He's given up. Can't blame him honestly.

I have always maintained we need more crazy on the roster.

Really? So you would have also bet that a 38 year old Vince Carter would be better than a 38 year old Kobe Bryant?

You cant tell me the NBA wont want a Lakers vs. Warriors Conference Finals no matter how great the Rockets can potentially be this season. I dont ever wish injuries on players, but I hope some of these old ass refs end up on not being able to give it a go come playoff time.

Keep it up Lakers. Why not turn the whole team into a reality show?

I cannot imagine anybody would take the risk of signing Bosh. I love him as a player, but that dude needs to realize that he has a very long broadcasting career ahead of him and that it the game isn’t worth sacrificing his life for, especially since he has a family.

Long term play by a 34 year old basketball player, smart.

I do too, and when Kobe was still in the league they'd love to trash LBJ. They've done nothing but hate on Lebron, and now well we will see. I don't think they will immediately do a 180, but maybe Im giving them too much credit. Some of the biggest bandwagoners in sports.

    so let's see:
    KCP who was on parole,
    Ball with Lavar,
    Lebron and his posse,
    Bosh on death risk,
a disgruntled Randle who wants out,

    What could go wrong?

Please god let them sign Dwight too.

This could really come back to bite him in the butt.

I think if Philly swoops in and trades for Kawhi I can see him staying there. All they need to do is have ONE good season to convince him to return and if their team is healthy, with Kawhi, they are probably going to the finals if not winning it all.

Lebron chose the worst team to go to out of all of his choices, so this was CLEARLY about family and lifestyle I guess. Once I heard the rumors about how his wife didn't like Houston I figured this would be the choice. Whenever you start hearing about how the wife impacts a player's decision it feels like it don't end well for the player. (Also, nothing against player wives at all but they are usually factoring in other things that have nothing to do with basketball...)

Looking at that roster right now, they are worse than Cleveland even.

Yep, they will always compare him to Kobe. If he fails on bringing a championship... they will feed him to the wolves.
