What does it take to play rar file?

    I have some quite big rar music files on my computer that I never played, since I don't have proper players to play them. What program does it take to play them? Is that player usefull (beyond playing my old files)?

    I have already a ton of players on my computer though, WMP, Real, Divx, some for internet radio, etc. Why can't these companies work out a universal player that can play all kinds of meida files? urghhhh.

    Real player should be able to play rar files, my ibook wont do it, but windows will

    I've tryed, but it doesn't work, not even through new software update. It says it doesn't support.

    Rarfiles are liek zip files. You have to get an extraction program (like winRar)

    you have to extract them first, and when they're out of the package, then they'll play. Do like Castor said and get WinRar, extract them and then have at it. :)
