When James left the floor in the 1st quarter it was a 22-22 game. It was 31-22 when the quarter ended. That quickly spread to a 15 point lead in the 2nd and everyone was begging for Harden to come back on. Because of him we "still had a shot" at halftime.

Harden was literally the only player not named Capela that could actually make a shot near the basket.

But even with that in mind it was a complete team effort of horrendous offense tonight.

D’antoni’s lineup of Green/Tucker/Luc/Paul/Ariza is one of the dumbest lineups of the season, and he used it to close a quarter against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

    Amazing.

On to game 4! No more 3 days off in between games. Rockets will play better, they seem to after a loss.

This thread is baffling to be honest. Harden despite missing bunnies he normally makes was pretty effective as playmaker and efficient scorer.

Harden shot an efficent 7-16 from the floor. He never had a shot blocked and and 9 assists..

Yeah, but there were a lot of empty possessions with him dribbling the ball a bunch and the play not developing. That’s not all on him, but we need him to be more decisive.

Yes I see that might be valid but the other posters regarding shot blocked and other number of other points were not

That's the glass half full view. The glass half empty view is that we lost first. So according to this trend, we will lose the series in 7.

Harden really needs to stop dribbling the shot clock down each time he iso's. Year after year, that's been his problem in the playoffs.

F$#k Whoracle Arena. I've been there, and it's no different than any other home arena during the playoffs. Filled with people who know next to nothing about NBA basketball and scream and cheer at all the wrong things.

This was the first home game of the series for Golden State and they played like it. Game 4 will be very, very different because now they're all cocky again.

Don't recall McHales offense ever looking like Game 2. Game 1 and 3 were very much McHale era.

Yep, we are just taking turns being cocky. We'll win all the even number games and they'll win all the odd number games. If we were the second seed instead of the first seed, the even and add number pattern would have been reversed. They'd be the one who were cocky the first game.

    Yeah I have to agree.

I think it was deflating, when early in the game, we just had some bad miscues. Lots of silly turnovers, Gordon specifically.

Then harden slowed it down to calm everyone’s jitters and that didn’t really help. I think it was well reasoned and understandable to calm the guys down but it just lead to bad possessions.

I think harden had an emphasis to not settle for atepbacks and rather drive to the rim, which I love. It was just exhausting missing so many layups all game, from everyone. The inconsistent foul calls also probably played a part.

Then factoring in oracle and the crowd and we just couldn’t put it together. Just in a funk all game.

We have too many fair weather fans that watch TNT Experts. If you watch our team all year, this team always bounced back after a bad game. Lets not quit on our Team when we had a bad game. When you lose a game by 41 points, there isn't much positive to talk about. Just believe that we can do this. I am sure our players are not hanging their heads low. Go Rockets

So let me get this straight, harden sits in the first quarter score tied at 22 but as soon as he sits they out scored us by 16 till he returned in the second quarter and he proceeds to cut it to 11 by the half but somehow it’s all hardens fault? Lol the OP can troll all he likes but his agenda is obvious

This is OUR offense. It’s a chess match between Kerr and Dantoni. Both teams are going to make these adjustments. Being a Rockets fan, you should have already expected a blow out loss. Rockets always have these tendencies.

The fact of the matter is

Game 1, expected the Rockets to lose because GSW has been there and done that, they game prepared.

Game 2, Rockets adjusted the game plan, attacked at all levels, full court attack, didn’t slow it down in the half court, and took it to GSW.

Game 3, you should have expected the Rockets to lose, it’s GSW, easy drives to the basket in game 2 wouldn’t come in game 3. You should expect Curry or Thompson to go off, that’s what happened.

Game 4, you’ll notice a step in the rockets game, why? Because that’s what it takes to light a fire for these rockets.

One thing is for sure, there will be one or two teams that are worn out after this......it's pretty tiring.

Both teams do not have it to play perfect ball every game but GSW is a tad younger and a tad better.

Game 4, Houston comes out prepared and ready.

Honestly, Harden need to probably channel LeBron and play 40+ minutes here on out
