If we beat the Warriors and win it all, keep Capela at all costs. If we lost and we have a chance to get LeBron, you gotta do it. If we lose to the Warriors this year, we'll never beat them without a super duper team like they have.

A champion that has already proven he can't beat the current dubs team even with an all-star alongside him.

LBJ would be cool, but PG13 is a better fit in talent, temperament, and cost. He comes up in the clutch in a role that allows CP3 and the beard to keep doing what they've been doing. As I mentioned, LBJ is suspect from three in the playoffs which has been a problem for us in the last two years. Signing either would thin out our role player roster and hinder our future cap flexibility. And PG13 is younger.

Only want Lebron if it costs us Anderson, Gordon, and maybe Ariza. Green can give us what Gordon does and Anderson is out of the rotation anyway and Trevor is very on/off

This question is easily answered by turning it around: If we had Harden, CP, LeBron, and role players, would you trade LeBron for Clint Capela, Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon, etc.?

    No, you would not.

What r u talking about? The longer your window is the higher the chance of a championship teams like Dirk's Dallas or Hakeem's Rockets were never considered the best team during their time, but because they were contenders for a very long time they were able to position themselves to win a ring when the opportunity was there. Spurs were the same thing, they were great for almost 2 decades thats why they have 5 rings to show for it.

OTH locking yourself in a very short window with Lebron is a great way to never win a ring, GSW still has 5 stars and they will have 5 stars till Lebron gets old in 4 yrs. I highly doubt Capela will get a max deal like Lebron with 35M salary per year so it is better to get Capela since he is cheaper and will be better longer. Harden is only 28 you will do him a huge disservice if you saddle him with old dudes in an effort win now.

I'm sorry but that is not how the CBA works. DAJ would have to opt out and sign with us. We cannot sign him. He wanted us to trade for him. The only way we get LBJ is if he opts in and we trade for him. Capela is a RFA. We can only trade Capela if we resign him and he is a Base Year Compensation player so only half his cap figure counts in trade and he cannot be traded within the first year of his deal unless he agrees to it. He doesn't want to go to Cleveland. Ergo, Capela under no circumstances will be traded for LBJ and this thread is pointless. In the mythical and unrealistic scenario that we could sign LBJ under the cap and have to get rid of Capela, LBJ would do anything for us to keep Capela. We are not gutting the team.

Also, none of the concerns around LBJ have been due to fit. He FITS. He FITS ridiculously well. LBJ ISOs like hell. When all three are in the game he mostly goes off-ball and is the third PG sharing option. When one of the stars is out of the game he rotates like Harden and CP3 do now. We would have a rotation that guarantees 2 of the 3 on court at all times. Look at the leap in efficiency we made with CP3 and just imagine that goes up even higher with getting LBJ that is a perfect fit for us. PG13 also fits that bill. LBJ needs to extend his career and doesn't want to have to put up a 40pt triple double every game to be competitive. This is LBJ's top choice. The only question is can we make the deal work. That is the real difficult part and why there is concern.

    EZ answer: no

This team has an identity that is currently working out great.

If we lose Capela and introduce lebron then we have to figure out a new style. Why change when what we have is working?

Also, i do start believing in the “theres only one ball” stuff when theres 3 ball dominant players. Lebron, cp3, and harden are all pgs pretty much lmao.

LeBron better learn to catch alley oops then. Maybe we can get him some special shoes to increase his vertical.

i don't care how cba works, i'm just stating the obvious that 2 players are greater than 1 especially when one of those 2 is a goat. that's obvious.

and the reason i have that mentality is that the cba doesn't say anything about KD taking a massive paycut to join the 73 win defending wc champions and previous nba champ. with KD, LBJ, PG, all these guys are joining teams for many reasons and some don't include the cba rules if you will.

The CBA always matters and you better care about how it works. It governs everything that happens with player movement. It's the only reason we have CP3 and Tucker right now and it's magic that may turn a $20M anchor like Anderson into LBJ if we sprinkle enough assets onto him. Melo ain't walking away from $28M and LBJ isn't walking away from $33M and more in future years. For LBJ to come here he needs to be able to get paid for a lengthy deal, not just a 1 year deal. He is going to listen to someone like Morey if he can get his money and the current team we have. KD's massive paycut was all of $2M the first time. LBJ is not going from $33M or $35M to vet min.

How is the poll even close? Serious question here...Lebron all but guarantees us at least one championship.

Capela stays, and it's not even close. It would also mean losing Ariza, while extending Paul. If we play the Cavs in the Finals, we would be the heavy favorites. LeBron can rot in the east, or get knocked out in the first round with the Lakers. I absolutely do not want to play against Capela for the next 8-10 years of his prime. Also, he's a fantastic fit with this team as currently constructed. Harden, Paul, and Capela have about a 3-4 year window left to compete. Would love to instead get something from Gordon and/or Ryno in FA to put us over the top IF we don't win it all this year. Finally, IF we do win it all this year, LeBron will not be an option reportedly as he doesn't want to go the weak "KD" route and become a villan again.

Not that easy unfortunately. First, this isn't a trade to Cleveland. He would be a FA. In addition to Capela, him signing would cost us Ariza obviously. Is LeBron > Capela + Ariza? What contracts are we talking here for LeBron and Capela in your trade, money and years? Is Anderson on the way out in your trade? Draft picks? Second, you have yet to see LeBron, Harden, and Paul play together. What if it's not the 65 win fit you've already seen with this current squad? My point being, any of these hypotheticals won't happen in a vacuum.

Before this season I would have said LBJ. Given the season CC had, I’m leaning toward him.

One coming into his prime and the other on his way out.
LBJ is an amazing player, but RIGHT NOW I'd have to say no thanks to LeBron

LBJ is a 5 star player, Capela is currently a 2 or 2.5 star player.
