This is something that was lacking for a long time. I'll take this kind of fire from both because there is mutual respect. This is not a Harden vs Dwight situation.
Champions argue and think nothing of it as long as both understand that they're arguing for something bigger than themselves. Here are two of my favorite champs, and they're still friends.
If I remember correctly Harden sent Paul home in the playoffs after being down 3-1. Maybe Harden is teaching Paul how to have heart.
Chris Paul is not easy to play with. Over the last 5 or 6 years he has become very blunt and has no problem confronting someone if he feels they screwed up. He regularly chewed out Glen Davis for being lazy and he would go at DeAndre for not setting a proper screen or not properly switching. He is intense and won’t let it go. A lot of guys cannot handle that type of confrontation. Blake Griffin is a classic example. Harden isn’t much different. He has an opinion and it will be heard. The fact that they have an understanding and can do that to each other is good. Will it wear on each other? Yeah but not likely anytime soon. Paul has also learned who to stay away from. He did something similar to Tucker and learned PJ doesn’t play.

I liked the whole exchange...... I think it shows how close they are.... neither of them took it to a level of seriousness but they were both serious, if that makes sense. James slapping chris’s fist away was just a simple “gone with bs man” You can tell these guys argue a lot and compete with and against each other a lot. Not argue as in fight but argue, if that makes sense too..... It’s almost like 2 brothers who give each **** all day but they’ll be damned if they let anyone else do it....
