Yep, personally (and assuming Durant is not coming) i would be ok with Whiteside and Horford, this move will also give us the chance to eventually move one between Hassan and Capela if a big trade scenario happens. The only negative i see here is that since IMO Capela has a decent/good chance to be a thing sooner rather than later, i'm not sure it'll be the best move to throw big money on a center (who seems to have also some ego problems)...but well, at this point we're probably in a position where it's worth to take a risk.

But this is still worth to keep an eye on imo, if they can't sign some good player or a very good one and they lose Conley, they may want to rebuild. They're really old, no young talent...Morey already wanted Marc here and i'm sure he would be a perfect fit for us. The only thing that worries me about him is that he had the same injury of Yao, and he's 31 already, i think this would be another risky move...

I think spacing from the 4 is what has been severely lacking. I think people don't realize how much having dmo last year be able to step out and hit the 3 helped harden.

If you have a 4 who can hit from deep it makes the lane much more open and that's where harden is at his best.

Now, with that said I don't like Anderson because he is so horrid at defense. He is worse than harden and pillars when it comes to individual and team defense. Even if he provides some rebounds although not like he used to.

I would be okay at this point with just a solid starter who can shoot from deep and play average to adequate defense. Marvin Williams, PPat(hey Carl) or even a small ball 4 who can defend bigger players like a Deng, Batum type player.

I think more then rebounding we need bigs who know how to box out. So even if a player doesn't rebound well, does he box out well?

Horford is clearly the bread and butter but after him I would look at

    Marvin Williams
    Batum
    Luol Deng
    Teletovic

he needs to be tall and learn from bogut and draymond on setting picks and armbars.
we need an enforcer. someone to show curry and durant they're not gonna make it past the 1st half.

    1. Defensive Rebound. Rockets one of the worst in the league.

    2. Defend the rim/paint.

    3. Be effective in the Pick n Roll. Either great at setting screens, rolling, hitting the mid range shot, or being the ball handler.

I’m thinking LBJ would be a good 4 for this team.

    Or Aaron Gordon.

Hell I'd take Anthony Randolph right now.

    Enforcing

    and Shooting.

If we somehow took Demarcus Cousin's talent now that he is injured n out with a basketball and transferred it to Anderson, I am willing to take another look.

That analogy is like saying "I'd take Michael Jordan over Jonny Flynn", but unfortunately we know that Cook has been blackballed out of the league due to opponents being scared of his power.

Even his own teammates fell into depression when seeing him balling in practice, knowing they could never achieve that level.

If Cousins is out until next season. My worries of needing bigger PF’s is lessened.
    I don’t fret about the:
    LMA/Paul Gasol combo
    or
KAT and whatever the T-Wolves put as C/PF simultaneously combo
    or
Thunder (w/Adams and whoever they team with Adams)
    or
    Blake/D Jordan (Clippers)
    or
    Warriors “Big front court tandems”

I feel the Rockets can win with small ball lineups now. Any upgrade over Ryan Anderson is welcome and preferred.

Now this could change if Marc Gasol is traded to a contender.....or another PF that has power and shooting range.
