DALLAS (Nov. 19, 2003) - The Dallas Mavericks have announced a new single-ticket program for all remaining Mavs regular season home games during the 2003-04 season.

On the day of each Mavs regular season home game, single tickets will be available for purchase at the American Airlines Center Box Office for $5 (upper level) and $30 (lower level) beginning two hours prior to tipoff.

A single ticket is defined as an unsold single, remaining seat that is located between two sold seats. There are usually 200-300 single seats scattered around the arena that are available for purchase at each home game.

"Rather than letting these tickets go unused, we felt that this would be a great way for fans who don't mind attending a game by themselves to make new friends and experience the fun of a Mavs game," said Mavs owner Mark Cuban.

Nugs have been doing this for at least 3 years. Only they just have all seats for $5. Usually around noon of game-day, around 100-200 seats will become available to the public for $5 each.

    Giddy,

The airline has been doing this since 90s, now it is more and more difficult to find a place to sleep in the airplane.

I had a wierd experience once. One night maybe 30 minutes prior to tip off, I decided to just go solo and check out the Clips versus Rockets. Can't remember the exact cost of the ticket, but they ended up placing me in a $45-60 seat for a $20 ticket (or something around that). So I always assumed the Rockets were doing something like this. News to me they aren't.

Anyways at least that night I was able to more closely watch Steve get lit up by Jeff McGinnis:)
