It isn't like Giles was doing the job expected of him last year, or for part of this year. Lately though he has been Brad Lidge esque.

His job is to finish games, and he has done that as well as any closer all year. He has looked sharper over the last month and a half, but the end result hasn't changed.

Only had 2 hits and still won. I'll take it!

With Cleveland winning 13 in a row, we warmed up at a good time.

He has, but we bought a guy who had a 1.56 ERA. Suddenly he is that guy again (lately even better). Feels good. Hopefully he keeps on rolling into the postseason.

Thanks for the info. I don't know why I have always thought Harville did it. I even remember watching. I wasn't even old then. :)

I will sleep so much better tonight if we can get a vintage LMJ performance. Give me 7ip with 0-2 runs and filthy stuff Lance, my body is ready.

I was struggling to stay awake until I saw Verlanders 99mph fastball on the edge.

    I was in awe.

Just wait till postseason. We may get some visits from the triple digit gods.

I texted this to my friends this morning:

Giles since June 7 (3 months, 29 games pitched) 31.1IP 3ER for a 0.86 ERA, 15H 10BB 46K 0.423 OPS, 14/15 saves. He's at 2.30 ERA and 2.14 FIP with a 0.933 WHIP for the whole year. Kimbrel is 1.53 ERA 0.678 WHIP for the year. Cody Allen is at 2.70 / 1.22, and Jansen is at 2.07 / 0.696. Those are probably your best four closers, coincidentally the bulk of the field for the World Series

    Musgrove since his conversion to reliever July 22. 16 games 3-0 W-L 24.2IP 1.09ERA 0.81WHIP 23K.

Devo for the last five weeks: 14 games 13.2IP 0.66ERA 1.32WHIP 12K; he's come back around. Our three best relievers are basically Dotel Lidge Wagner right now.

imagine adding peacock, morton and a healthy harris to that trio... our bullpen all of a sudden looks scary good. if LMJ and McHugh can round back into form this team looks extremely dangerous.

    You got the "Har" correct.

    1991 - Harnisch

Coincidentally, Pete achieved it today.... September 6th, 1991

That can't be right, we've been better than 32 games over .500 this season, several times.

Maybe he meant this late in the season?

That is bold. Clevelands remaining schedule doesn't look too scary. We have a couple tough ones left. Buuuuut. If junior comes out and looks like junior of may June. Then I like our chances.

When I look at the Astros schedule, I see a list of teams with hard schedules left.
