Does that mean we get a bowl game automatically? Or do we still need to get a bid of some sort. It's been so long since we've been good I haven't paid much attention to how the system works. Right now we are 6-4 and looking decent for once.
I just looked at the projections over at: http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2003/Bowls/Bowl_Projections.htm They have us in the Fort Worth Bowl When: Dec. 23, 7:30, ESPN Where: Fort Worth, TX Conference tie-ins: Big XII vs. Conference USA CFN Projection: Kansas vs. Houston Now that would be sweet. I'm excited about this. Woo hoo.
It seems like any team that goes 6-5 will go to a bowl these days. Don't get me wrong, I love the Coogs, but there are too many meaningless bowls. But that's another thread.
UH has turned it around...They will be in their first bowl game since 1999 and I am so stoked... They only have Louisville in L'Ville and UAB in Houston...They can finish 8-4, which is what I predict... UH: 31 L'Ville: 24
The Fort Worth Bowl? I guess that since it's so close to Dallas and it's not a real bowl, the can call it the Polyester Bowl...
If Middleton has a big time bowl game he may have a shot in being drafted. He runs a 4.4 and could make a living returning punts.
Don't overlook UAB. Darrell Hackney (their QB) is very similar to Byron Leftwich. If healthy, they could 'surprise' UH. They did almost beat TCU.
