One more thing on this freeing up cap space thing Bima brought up..

It's safe to say they let 2 of our NG"s expire so getting cap space never seemed like a priority to the Knicks. I don't think the signing of Baker means as much as some took it to be. Just like Portland trading Crabbe probably meant nothing.

 

There is something to Portland however..
Portland is $4mil over the tax line at this point.. It was largely assumed they would waive and stretch Nicholson and get under the tax line.. They have not done that yet... They have until August 31st to do so...
But maybe they have a deal out there that they can get under the tax line without using the stretch provision.. hmmmm

 

Do you not believe Clutch has insider sources?

It's not that big of a stretch to believe Clutch trust Bima to share juicy things he's heard. I mean, Clutch is about as close-mouthed and protective of his sources as one can be,,,but what fun is it if you don't share with at least one other person here ... and my bet is on Bima and/or Will.

Just because ppl like Clutch and Bima don't feel a need to expose insider sources for selfish benefit of attracting twitter followers doesn't mean Clutch hasn't become a member of the insider sources community over the past 20 yrs.

 

Carmelo Anthony trade, establish 200 B.B. (before basketball).

I've said this before never under estimate the power of Stupid! Even if the Knicks said they were going to trade Melo here, it doesn't mean they are going to do it if we just send Ryan Anderson. Houston is going to have to send something more than Ipads. Melo is going to need help if he wants to come to Houston.

 

Admit it...you're just saying Bima has no sources, because he said something negative about the trade being imminent. .

btw: Is your reason above an assumption, or not an assumption? You ever think Clutch is always quiet ... which he is?

also btw: I thought we were talking in general that Clutch and Bima are just fans, like us, and hear insider things all the time. They just don't share publicly very often, because they are fans just like us, and they don't want their insider news to dry up by abusing it publicly....since they are just fans who don't have jobs/aspirations to make money/clicks/prestige off of insider news.

 

Clutch is an insider but passes of things like its his opinion. Your bet your ass he is as legit as it comes

Agreed. No reason to presume Bima is passing off inside info rather than simply surmising things based on current events.

I didn't get that impression. Clutch was being honest in that there was a strange optimism from Morey and reports that CP3 wanted Houston. The Rockets were operating like they landed a big fish from early on, and Clutch was just commenting on that, as many of us felt the same way.

I wasn't responding to anything specific. ppl were saying Bima is just a fan, with no access to insider info. I was chiming in to say; I don't think that's true. Not regarding this specific news, but in general.

Still, even if it's more than personal opinion ... instead enhanced, educated speculation by combining some insider info with CBA rules and precedence for how GM's apply them....even if it is more than personal opinion, you perceive it as bad news, so it's important to devalue it with "Bima is just a fan...doesn't know anything." But if it was good news,,,,"Bima has a lot of info." lulz
