Ya - you missed something

The seedings are based on conference winners, but HOME COURT is based on record.- so if we finish second in our division (and 6th overall), but with a better regular season record than a conference winner, we win homecourt advantage.

I gotta say, I think it'd be pretty unlikely that situation would ever transpire (except in the East).

 

I hate they have to go back to New Orleans Hornets...why can't they give it a new name. New Orleans Monkeys or something...geez not Hornets again! When a name is history...just let it go!!!

 

They sould give the "Hornets" name to Memphis, send the "Grizzlies" name to Utah, and let the "Jazz" name got back home to N.O.

Why couldn't they leave our division title alone and just name one more "North" and one more "South"??? As in:

EAST- Atlantic, Central, South
West - Midwest, North, Pacific

Nawlins is more "mid" west than Southwest... but more "south" than West... aside from west of the Mississippi River (which empties out there), in fact Memphis is on the Eastern side of that river, but in the "Southern" half of the US.

And what's "west" about Minnesota? It's north though.

And is Yankee D.C. really in the Southeastern region of the U.S.?

They could have also had:
EAST - Atlantic, Central, Dirty South
WEST - Pacific, Rocky, Dirty Dirty South

 

We better win something this year 'cause next year is going to be hell...

they may as well get it over with and put the pacers and nets in the west too

 

Just what the the eastern conference needs - replacing one of their best teams with an expansion team.

 

Thanks - it's been a long time since trying to read a post caused me actual physical pain. But I did finally understand it, and the sentiment is in the right place.. let's just go out there and kick the heck out of everybody!

I don't see much difference. Might only have to deal with KG and the Wolves 3 times in a season. Will be the same teams in the race to the WC championship. The SW division is going to be tough for a long time because of: Tim Duncan, Manu, Tony Parker, Dirk, Nash, Ming, Francis, Baron Davis, and Pau Gasol.
