Damn, I remember attending this. Wasn't a huge crowd but it was hyped. I walked out thinking we were winning three championships minimum.

This vid reminds me of something I haven't seen discussed vis a vis Carmelo v Ryan.

Carmelo seems to me like he's got a quicker release on his shot. That can be a big deal.

While being a mostly-great shooter, Anderson always struck me as needing just a split-tick too long to look and feel comfortable getting his shot up.

Accuracy is one thing, but timing is huge, too. A big part of what makes the Great Satan Warriors so hard to play is how fast Curry/Thompson can shoot well.

Those split-ticks can be the difference between elite spacing and just ok spacing, between wide open and just open, an Hakeem Olajuwon/John Starks closeout and a Charles Barkley/John Stockton closeout.

Anyway, not like anyone is debating Anderson v Anthony. Just something I always noticed about Ryan since as got him (Gordon too, really, but he makes it work better, just a little quicker).

Among all the other things, Anthony's speed of shot release is something to love.

Fair point. The issue in the p/o's IMO was the quicker close-outs on Ryno left him exposed.
