Has the NBA off-season become more interesting than the regular season?

    The NBA regular season has always had its issues. With the 82-game season, you have lulls and the general feeling that individual games or even stretches of games don't matter. What's new is that the offseason has been more interesting than the playoffs. Playoff intrigue is down because the Warriors beat up on everyone, and offseason intrigue is up because there are a few teams playing the arms race to try to keep pace with the Warriors.

    I've always found offseason more interesting than the season. Of course, nothing happens at all for long stretches of the offseason. It's really just end of June and first half of July that's entertaining. Then there's a whole of sitting and waiting for the season to start so you can start thinking about moves your team should do before Dec 15.

    More interesting sure, but not more entertaining. And plus it's like a two week flurry around the draft and free agency. After like the 2nd week of July, the NBA offseason sucks.

    It's almost there. As a Rockets fan, the offseason got off to a rousing start with the CP3 trade and it's been insanity since.

    It continues on for me because I love summer league and this is the first time each and every game will be televised.

    The pre-draft chatter & trades and the draft itself were good too.

    Free agency >> regular season > playoffs last year > preseason.
    I didn't watch a minute of the finals and I didn't miss anything.

    if the playoffs are going to be an out and out bore where even the series without the warriors or cavs featured almost all blowout games, then yeah at this point it has been better than even the playoffs were. regular season had the mvp chase but the inevitability of the warriors bandwagoning made that essentially pointless, even if a little fun.

    You know, it's kind of sad that the NBA has turned into somewhat like a fantasy league. The excitement is in trading, signing and resulting numbers rather than the game itself.
