if i'm not mistaken, yao's scored down in the post the last 3 possessions. they need to keep feeding. if padgett's gonna keep shooting 3's, at least let Yao have a touch first!!!

50 to 44 Mavs at the half. Yao got 10 points and 5 rebounds.

I like Padgett's aggressiveness. even though he's brickin, they're good shots. this is only like his third game, right?

Great. Yao's on fire just 5 minutes before halftime. Now he must not drink anything for the next 20 minutes.

Two things to work on the rest of the game:

1.) GET BACK ON DEFENSE! Dallas sets most of its flashy offense up by pushing the ball up the court... if you eliminate that, you'll slow the game down drastically, as was done in the 2nd quarter.

2.) Work the inside-out game and make THEM adjust... looks like JVG 2nd guessed the defense, by trying to work the other options ANTICIPATING they'd pack it in to guard Yao... obviously, Dallas has decided to let Yao beat them, and guard the outside options.

weakest move i've ever seen in my life: Nash takes straight into Yao, and Yao not wanting to pick up a foul, moves backwards with his hands moving away trying to avoid contact and lets Nash go right up over him to score an uncontested layup. If you foul, you foul. Big deal. That was weak and embarrasing. You got to either go for block or put the knock Nash to the floor in that situation.

Bad thing is that when Nash rejoined the game, the pace was obviously much faster. In the last 5 minutes of the game, it turned into Mavs pace. I hope htis will not continue. Otherwise the Rox would lose the game. The pace is number 1 priority for the Rox: CONTROL THE TEMPO!!!

now they're on their way to 100 points. damn! we gotta step up the D! they're gonna ruin our opponents' points allowed stat!

not to mention, we can't let them win.

no edit kills me. MY point was.. as a big man you can't let a little guy take it right up over you like that. you are 7'6 and large and in charge. avoiding contact is not an option. that was demoralizing for the defense as a whole.

good post. i agree, we gotta slow it down. 50 points at the half for the mavs is not gonna cut it.

and if they've decided to not double up on yao, give him the damn ball. but he's still gotta get better positioning.

Nachbar has got to go !!!!
to say he was worthless would be an insult
to all worthless people out there.
every time he touches the ball I cringe.

Take it easy. That was a crazy shot, Nash got lucky. You don't want to bail him out by fouling him.
