"While Domanick Davis has had some success in college as a running back, his true NFL value is as a return specialist. While he possesses good quickness and burst, Davis is just too slow to be a competent outside runner at the next level. He also lacks the power needed to be a consistent inside ball carrier as a pro and dances too much before finding a hole. His agility, acceleration out of cuts and burst make him a candidate to be used as a third down back, but his hands are a little shaky and his lack of top notch speed would hurt in that role as well. Yeah I picked him up after the Jacksonville game and its worked well with me. Even funnier, my other RB is Portis. What I like about Davis vs. Mack is that he is patient. Mack just tumbles forward using his power, while Davis looks for the line to open holes. Glad to see that one of our RBs is showing some promise, because next season we need to draft some DEFENSE.
The Texans drafted him as a special teams guy, not as an RB. Nobody saw him coming, so you can't really blame them.] But after the first game of the season, I quickly snatched him up in my fantasty league. It was obvious he could play.
He is running away with the rookie of the year award. I can't name too many backs that are playing better than DD right now.
You just gotta love this situation, we all expect Andre Johnson to contend for ROY and he's doing a good job and then DD comes in and takes over. Funny thing is if Hollings were given the snaps we'd all probably be giddy over him as well. There's going to be a crazy competition between Hollings and DD next season. And you gotta believe our offense is going to explode next year. We're competitive in every game, and we have the offensive toys, next season we should open it up and be the Chiefs of the AFC South. Uh, how about a better O-Line, have we all forgotten that Tony Boselli is STILL not here? We need a better line for David Carr to even have a pocket to throw out of. Play actions, no matter how good the running game it (which its just average right now) don't work unless there's a pocket created...so I'll pass on the WR and DL (of all defensive players, we need LB), we need offensive linemen...
I agree Glenn is one of the best shut down corners in the league but Marcus Coleman has been toast the entire year. I know he has 4Ints but he is just not the shut down corner that the Texans need. Bailey or Woodson combined with Glenn would be awesome.
I'm pretty sure Tony Boselli will STILL not be here for quite some time. Retirement does that. And as for the offensive line, it is showing much more potential for improvement than the defensive line. Guys like Pitts have really improved, and offensive line is giving the QB enough time so far this season to allow for plenty of scoring, when the plays are called right. I'll take that all next season, and would much rather have a defense that can put the clamps down on stellar running backs such as Rudi Johnson.
Glenn's on the wrong side of 30, so is Coleman. Marcus also has a huge cap number and may be cut after this season, and if not will most likely be let go after next when his deal his up. We have two good D-lineman as well, just both hurt. (Payne, Walker) who we also need to sign to new deals. I'm afraid the Texans are going to play hardball since both players are coming off seasons in which they missed the majority of action. It's too bad too, Payne was looking like he was going to have a career season after that Miami game and the front office was ready to lock him up. All that being said, I can't think of any D-lineman as offseason FA's who are as good at their position as Bailey is at his. Bailey is the premier cover corner and is young. If you wouldn't open your wallet for him who would you do it for? Draft a DL, LB, and S early in the draft. Sign Bailey, resign Walker and Payne, cut Coleman and I think we see the playoffs next season.
