Portland seems to be keeping very quiet about the severity of this injury (suffered while attempting a dunk on Friday vs. Golden State).

I was at the game where it happened -- doing my grim duty as a Warriors fan -- and from both the fall and his reaction, I think it may be a lot worse than the Blazers are letting on, like in the neighborhood of a torn ACL.

Bonzi was pounding the floor with his hand like a guy who knew his season was over.

As of yesterday he was supposed to have further exams done on the knee, and they were uncertain. I haven't heard anything since.

Based on my extensive experience this year following medical news [IMG] , when they talk about "further exams" instead of giving a prognosis right away, it's usually a bad sign.

They say his knee is too swollen to get in a solid MRI, which definitely means he tore his ACL. If the swelling is that bad, at this point, then he totally tore that thing, which is a shame.

Ironically or not, I was wondering on Friday night why the hell Dunleavy had his best players on the court that deep into the game, though I was thinking more along the lines of Sabonis and Smitty, not Bonzi Wells.

I heard he's out for the rest of the regular season (that was pretty obvious), and out for the entire playoffs. Portland's done :-D
