I don't think he's a good 2 hole hitter, he failed there, and the RedSox announcers were pointing out his every failure trying to move runners and and his situation hitting, I had to agree with them. It was miserable. He's done much better in the leadoff role.

 

Interesting choice by Marwin to come up throwing to 2nd on the ball off the wall instead of the cut-off man.

 

Offense is making pretty solid contact so far.

 

Very peculiar considering how hard the ball was hit and the runner was on 1st.

 

4 hits in 2 innings! Of course we get the inning ending double play but hopefully signs of life for the offense.

 

These inconsistent home plate umps are really starting to get old

 

Yuli has hit the ball hard twice tonight. Quite encouraging.

 

The old man in me loves it when the shift gets beaten like that .

 

Man that was absolutely horrendous hitting from the top 3 there. With ducks on the pond and no outs.

 

Springer was a few milliseconds away from a 3 run bomb .

It sucks bregman and altuve didn't come through , but it was too early in the game for spring to bunt and then bregman to play for the sac fly ( in other words , manufacture a run)

Altuve jumping at the first pitch is frustrating when it doesn't work ... But is statistically a good strategy.
