Lou Reed Berlin album, it's cathartic. The most beautiful, depressing, rock album ever made. You'll feel damn near every emotion possible listening to this record. And forget tearing up, there are several songs that will make you sob. Caroline Says II, Sad Song, The Kids, etc... Dark room, headphones, glass of wine or spirit, you'll feel exhausted, depleted, and yet much better when it finishes.
Also this song, partly as its my youngest daughter's favorite song and one she chose to play in background of her National Charity League senior presentation...
Quite possibly the most depressing song I've ever heard. When I was a kid, I thought he was literally singing about a cat in a cradle....yeah, not so much. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go home and hug my kids.
Oh boy...neither my son nor I can talk during this song. My mom would sing this to me when I was small. I think I'll play it for her when I go visit her this Sunday. My deceased grandma's favorite song.

Some of the others have already been posted. Here's a few more. The one about a woman with dementia reminded me of this one. This one is almost over the top, but not quite. It still gets me.
Bird Song - Grateful Dead https://g.co/kgs/eUGPLn Particularly poignant now after my ex gf/good friend was killed in a jet ski accident in Belize on Tuesday (sadly her body wasn't found until Wednesday). I'm experiencing a level of heartbreak and hurt like I've never felt before. Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia wrote this in memory of their friend Janis Joplin and it's lyrics are some of the only words that provide even a modicum of solace in the face of such freak tragedy. All I know is something like a bird within her sang All I know she sang a little while and then flew on Tell me all that you know I'll show you Snow and rain If you hear that same sweet song again, will you know why? Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passing by Laugh in the sunshine Sing, cry in the dark Fly through the night Don't cry now Don't you cry Don't you cry any more La da da da Sleep in the stars Don't you cry Dry your eyes on the wind La da da da da da All I know is something like a bird within her sang All I know she sang a little while and then flew on Tell me all that you know I'll show you Snow and rain RIP Rickilee
Matt Keanon - The Call First verse hits hard since one of my mates I went through Basic and the School of Infantry with committed suicide a few days before Christmas 2016. John Michael Montgomery - Letters From Home I don't know why but during third verse "cause there ain't nothin' funny when a soldier cries" gets me no matter how many times I hear it.
