    I have some leftover ballpark style nacho cheese sauce that has never been opened but it has a label that says best used by December 2016. I think I will heat this synthetic cheese up and see what it tastes like but If I don't make any further posts on this forum within the next 10 days, please call 911 to collect my body.

    They're actually tasting pretty good. I was a bit worried about the cheese sauce but it taste the same as you get from the TC. The pickled jalapenos that I bought from HEB are not very good though, too watery and they don't taste quite the same as the ones you get at the the ball game.

    I was trying to create stadium nachos and I think I did a decent job here.

    The cheese sauce from the club level at TC is entirely different from what you get up top. This fact ruined the last Rockets game that I visited.

    Next time take the jalapenos out of the juice and let them sit. That is usually the difference.

    Also add a nice high hop beer like a Dogfish 60 or 90 minute IPA.

    Expiration dates are* typically generous with time. This helps people with weaker stomachs and immune systems avoid complications. Consider it a "better safe than sorry" theme.

    Canned nacho cheese usually lasts over a year, so eating it about a month passed the expiration should be okay.

    Never understood the fascination with ballpark nachos: stale chips, terrible "cheese" product, lame jalapenos. Blech.

    on some of this cheese in a can I'm sure it could be eaten years after expiration. I'm not a big fan of canned cheese but if it's all I have in the pantry to make nachos late at night I might risk 2+ months. You can smell botulinum in a can, right?? :)

    Just read it's not always easy to detect, great, just great!!!

    It's better at the ballpark because they cost $5-15+, the cost is what fools people everytime!! "it has to be good, it's expensive and everyone is eating it, I know it'll be different this time!", and then later things probably don't go well.

    Haha, yes, it's yellow but... "cheese" product is definitely a loosely used term at the ballpark. They should just call them week+ old nachos with a yellow gel like substance on top...
