    The Leslie High School girls' basketball team failed to score a single point in a 61-0 loss to Olivet on Tuesday night.

    Leslie's players missed all 24 of their shots from the field and all four foul shots. The Blackhawks (0-13) entered averaging 15 points a game, with their highest output this season at 22.

    Olivet (14-0) is ranked third in the state in Class C and already beat Leslie 56-9 this season.

    "The whole bus ride home, I couldn't believe it," Leslie coach Jay Harkness told The Jackson Citizen Patriot. "We missed layups. We missed 2-footers. Everything that could go wrong did."

    My dad played basketball at a Houston area junior high around 1928 or so and he scored all of his team's points in an 18-1 loss.

    My brother played 9th grade basketball against the group of kids that went on to win 3 consecutive state championships at Phyllis Wheatley high school circa 1971. At halftime they trailed 34-1. His enraged coach ranted: "Fellas do you reckon if I put some little hairs around that rim at there, you could find a way to put something in it!!!!"

    We had an 8th grade basketball game where we won 124-22. The opposing coach questioned the age and eligibility of our best player and it ticked our coach off enough ("He's questioning my integrity!") that the starters played the whole game and we pressed from tip off until the end of the 4th quarter. Our best guy had over 50.

    I remember my junior year of Highschool when I was on the varsity team, our first win of the season was in a triple overtime game.

    Man, I can still remember how exciting that game was.
