    Olivia Munn Joining Boyd Holbrook in Shane Black's 'Predator' Reboot (Exclusive)
    Munn will play a scientist opposite Holbrook's Special Forces commando.
    Olivia Munn is in negotiations to join Boyd Holbrook in The Predator, Twentieth Century Fox's reboot of the alien action-movie series that Shane Black is directing.

    Holbrook is starring in the movie, which was co-written by Black and Fred Dekker.

    Plot details are being kept under wraps, but this much is known: The story plunks the alien hunter — whom audiences have seen fight in jungles, concrete jungles, frozen wastelands and alien planets — in the harsh environment of … suburbia.

    Munn will play a scientist opposite Holbrook’s Special Forces commando.

    A February start date is being targeted.

    I'm not sure what to think about this. I mean, Predators was awesome and Adrien Brody and Topher Grace were in that movie. My bet is this movie will try to copy the original Predator beat by beat a-la Force Awakens/Star Wars and Jurassic Park/World. Olivia Munn's character will find herself as a wrong place/wrong time female character crossing paths with the elite Special Forces commandos hopefully starring someone else playing the "Dutch" character and not this Holbrook guy.

    The original was successful because we had no idea what the predator was and what it wanted. That mystery is long gone. They'd do better to just create a new movie at this point as I don't see them being able to recapture that magic. I seriously doubt anyone is interested in an origin story, or interested in what the predators have been up too. Now if you did an origin story on the group of military guys that could actually be interesting, especially if you had hints of a predator here and there.

    there is absolutely no way they can replace Ahnold and the original cast.they need a true badass with a zyzz body. i can only think of Rock.

    a prequel would be cool. I liked that one scene with the aztecs(or another tribe) worshiping them. will probably watch anyways since i'm a scifi junkie.
