Jerry Krause always liked Kelvin Cato. But I dont know if he wants him with his HUGE salary.

I'm sure there are plenty of teams that would trade for Cato. The problem is, they're not going to give us anything better.

The only way it's worth trading Cato is if: 1. we improve our team, or 2. we get someone in the last year of a contract to get caproom, or 3. It's part of a larger deal.

In either of the first two scenarios, nobody's going to make that deal. Or, at least, they're not going to give up someone at a position we need. For what it's worth, reports of us shopping him to Orlando for Bo Outlaw are all over the place. I think Orlando's refusal tells us something.

As for the third, a larger trade would have to come up unrelated to the Cato situation.

Cato helps the team more than he hurts it. I don't like him, but don't be too eager to trade him for someone else's castaway. Other team's aren't stupid.

Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak?

    PS. Notre Dame sucks

I'm not eager to give Cato away but getting we can do a lot of good like:

    1. Free up cap space.
    2. Try even better for Chris Webber
    3. Sign some of the people that will be free agents (Olajuwon, Anderson, Taylor, etc.)
    4. Maybe get a pick or two for Cato

If we can do all that and keep Cato then do it but the thing is I know we cannot. Sorry.

In limited Minutes Cato has done alright of late.

He is showing signs of improved rebounding and a nice little 15-foot jumper, as well as a hook shot and a little fadeaway.

Cato didn't do much on on the offensive or rebounding sides of the game against Chicago but defensively he had 5 blocks, not bad but the scoring and rebounding is much needed especially against the more dominant teams in the league.
