I have to feel like Les refused to trade Dwight at the deadline so that we "make the playoffs...even though I bet we would have made the playoffs without him (and I bet we would have made it with a higher seed as well as playing with some chemistry).

I just refuse to believe that no one would have traded a 2nd round pick and some expiring contract.

    **** les

He won't opt out if he's smart. No one is going to max him. I just don't see it.

This may sound nuts but I could see Deight opting in and then retiring after next year

If I were him I would just stick with the contract I got because I am not sure
anyone else is going to pay him 23+ million. New coach may revive him. If not there is one last cap bump scheduled for 2017-2018 not to mention a probable work stoppage.

I appreciate him giving back to the community but that's as far as it goes...

Ah...the 4th one dedicated to Dwight this season alone. Good to know there will be a 5th in the off-season.

I owe an apology to Kobe.

Kobe is right on the money.

    Howard is damn soft.

Dwight should opt-in and force a trade. That would actually help both parties.

Dwight isn't getting a max deal.

Cuban will sign him to a max contract. It's not even in doubt.

I personally think there is a 99% chance Howard is a Maverick next season.

Maximizing your pay for one year is not wise for an injury-prone player. He needs to maximize it for multiple years, even if that means less for the 1st season of a long contract vs getting his $20m via opt in. Every contract his signs will be more in sum that next year alone. And the sooner he signs that contract the more he'll get.

According to one site he has a 15% trade kicker on a 23.2 million salary. Will he forego that? You guys don't think he is worth spit so good luck on this trade.

how can i be mad at him? the team phased him out and in return he stopped caring. reduced to a defenive rebounding big when the team plays no defense and doesnt rebound. and lots of time when they try to pass him the ball they cant cuz hardne's the only good passer on this sorry ass team. what else is he supposed to do? i hope he doenst give up on himself and goes to a team that will actually use him properly. its not like rockets would be contenders if he was a 20/10 big. there's tons of problems to sort out.

league needs more dominating scoring bigs and it would suck if dwight gives up on himself. he's getting paid millions suck it up.
