    Guthrie Govan is the name tha comes to mind . I also like monte Montgomery and think that some of his stuff is GOAT acoustic , but I think he's past his prime . Antoine dufour and pierre bensusan are still alive and are prolly the best solo acoustic guitar players , though I preferred hedges . Bensusan and Guthrie are probably the top 2 .

    There's a ton of great talent out there, I won't pick a "best", but someone who has really impressed me as of late is Kiko Loureiro, Megadeth's new guitarist. Angel Vivaldi is another lesser-known guy who rips - really nice and humble person, too.
